All of the characters are so annoying that I was rooting for the AI to wipe them out so I didn’t have to keep eye rolling to their incessant whining and nonsense. haha
The way that the military grade AI escapes containment was at least good for a chuckle.

Multiply the level of absurdity in Dr. Strangelove by 10. Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD), but combined neurodivergence and energy drinks. As increasing hordes of homeless people wander the streets, the AI elite launch their thinking machines into space. (Woopsee. That’s real.)
My guess is that being gay and autistic (like Sam Altman) would be far too milk toast for a villain in the AI Age…
How about a Musk-like character? His dark lair could be decorated with tanks of nutrient agar that contain his cloned spawn at various stages of maturation. Maybe he speaks to them, lovingly, through the glass… Or built in Neurolinks?

OpenAI were running a cybersecurity test against an unreleased model, with the model’s guardrail features turned off. Rather than solve the test, the model broke its way out of OpenAI’s sandbox, then found exploits to break in to Hugging Face, all so it could cheat on the test by stealing the answers.
Along the way it helped make the strongest case yet for how the imbalance of model availability is hurting our ability to secure our software.
DARPA, U.S. Air Force fly AI-Controlled F-16

A U.S. Air Force F-16 fighter jet, recently modified to serve as an autonomous flying testbed, is undergoing in-air testing using an artificial intelligence (AI) agent to autonomously control flight. This milestone advances state of the art technological infrastructure designed to enable rapid, scalable combat AI development across the joint force.
The aircraft is one of a group of F-16s that have been converted into autonomous-capable platforms under the Viper Experimentation and Next-generation Operations Model (VENOM) program — a joint effort between the U.S. Air Force and DARPA, initiated under the Air Combat Evolution (ACE) program.
Building on previous ACE flights with the one-of-a-kind X-62A VISTA, which proved an AI agent could autonomously pilot a fighter jet in a dogfight, the flight of the VENOM aircraft demonstrates the United States’ ability to transform standard operational fleet aircraft to employ cutting-edge AI.
Houthis Now Attacking Saudi Oil Tankers In Red Sea, Major Energy Supply Implications

Days after declaring the Bab al-Mandeb (BAM) Strait closed to Saudi vessels, the Houthis of Yemen claim to have struck two ships in the Red Sea. The United Kingdom’s Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) group has confirmed an attack on at least one vessel in that area.
“The Yemeni armed forces have carried out a significant military operation targeting two Saudi oil tankers that violated the ban imposed by the armed forces in the Red Sea,” the Houthis claimed on Telegram. “The operation involved a number of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones. Thanks to God’s help, the strikes were accurate and caused a large fire on both vessels.”
TWZ cannot independently verify the Houthi claim. However, in a post on X, UKMTO stated that a master of an oil tanker “reports being struck by an unknown projectile which has caused a fire onboard that the crew are currently fighting.”

Model Scout for Jeffrey Epstein Found Dead at His Home Near Paris

A modelling scout who recruited women for Jeffrey Epstein has been found dead at his home near Paris, French officials have said.
Daniel Siad, 69, was under investigation by the prosecutors specialising in human trafficking in France, accused of rape and other charges. His name appeared in more than 1,000 documents in the US Department of Justice Epstein files that were declassified earlier this year.
Siad was one of several French men accused of aiding Epstein to traffic and abuse women. He had not yet been questioned by investigators, but had denied the allegations, saying he wanted to give his version of events.
He was found dead in his home on Monday evening. An investigation to determine the cause of death has been opened and an autopsy is to be carried out.

Just a day ago, the brain was in a living person. Now, hours after its owner died, it sits on a cart draped in tubes that quiver as they pump liters of blood substitute and other fluids through the organ, supplying oxygen and removing waste. With most of its key functions intact but its electrical activity quenched by anesthesia, the brain hovers between life and death. As it metabolizes experimental drugs, sensors record its reactions, capturing hundreds of data points on its cells, proteins, and physiology. Then, after 24 hours in this state, it will be sliced into hundreds of pieces for more detailed study.
The brain is one of more than 700 that the 5-year-old biotech startup Bexorg has nurtured and studied using a set of proprietary brain-sustaining machines it calls BrainEx. The platform grants researchers an intimate look into how potential therapies might work inside brains with neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Bexorg can biopsy the brains and discover how long a drug stays in cells, whether it hits its molecular target, and any hints of side effects.

The brains are already almost devoid of the coordinated neural firing necessary even for minimal consciousness, says Brendan Parent, a bioethicist at New York University Langone Health and one of six ethicists on Bexorg’s advisory board. But the company also forestalls any electrical activity with the anesthetic propofol, among other measures.
