Mistakes Were NOT Made, Don’t Let Them Get Away With It
March 20th, 2023Via: Margaret Anna Alice:
This Anthem for Justice is my attempt to succinctly chronicle the calculated intentionality underlying the COVID tyranny, and I ask your help in spreading the clear message that #MistakesWereNOTMade. Please share this poem and keep it handy for the next time anybody uses verbiage to gloss over the atrocities committed. Let’s make 2023 the Year of Accountability so none dare repeat such acts in the future.

TSA Chief: Eventually, Biometrics Won’t Be Optional at Airports
March 20th, 2023Via: Dallas Morning News:
“We’re upgrading our camera systems all the time, upgrading our lighting systems,” Pekoske said. “(We’re) upgrading our algorithms, so that we are using the very most advanced algorithms and technology we possibly can.”
He said passengers can also choose to opt out of certain screening processes if they are uncomfortable, for now. Eventually, biometrics won’t be optional, he said.
In general, he said, TSA puts its latest technology in TSA PreCheck lanes because those passengers are looking for convenience.

‘Sensitivity Readers’
March 20th, 2023Via: AFP:
It’s a profession which is increasingly under the spotlight as the culture wars rumble on: “sensitivity readers” — editors who identify insensitivities or stereotypes in manuscripts — are becoming a lightning rod for the publishing industry.
Such readers have worked in the wings of the Western literary world for years now, though they were largely confined to children’s literature.
But amid social reckonings such as the #MeToo and Black Lives Matter movements, sensitivity readers are becoming prominent in contemporary fiction publishing also — and not everyone is pleased about it.

Nearly 200 Banks at Risk for Same Fate as Silicon Valley Bank
March 19th, 2023Via: New York Post:
Nearly 200 more banks may be vulnerable to the same type of risk that took down Silicon Valley Bank: The value of the assets they hold.
There are 186 banks across the country that could fail if half of their depositors quickly withdraw their funds, a new study published on the Social Science Research Network found.
Even insured depositors — those with $250,000 or less in the bank — could have problems getting their cash if these institutions face the sort of run that Silicon Valley saw a week ago.
The concern is that these banks hold a significant amount of their assets in interest-rate sensitive financial instruments like government bonds and mortgage backed securities. The value of those older, low-interest investments dropped sharply as the Federal Reserve hiked interest rates over the past year.
Half Of Americans Believe Media “Intend To Mislead, Misinform”
March 18th, 2023Via: Summit News:
A study has revealed new lows in terms of trust Americans have in the establishment media.
The study by pollster Gallup and the Knight Foundation found that only a quarter of Americans have some level of favourability regarding the media, the lowest figure recorded for five years.
The study also found that half of Americans believe news organisations “intend to mislead, misinform, or persuade the public.”
More than half (52%) also said that they do not believe news organisations have people’s best interests at heart.
Trump Says He Expects To Be Arrested On Tuesday
March 18th, 2023Via: Reuters:
Fox News anchor John Roberts informed viewers on Friday afternoon that the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has requested a “meeting with law enforcement ahead of a potential Trump indictment.” He said, “to discuss logistics for some time next week, which would mean that they are anticipating an indictment next week.”
…
A spokesman for Trump said the former president had not been notified of any arrest. Trump provided no evidence of leaks from the district attorney’s office and did not discuss the possible charges in his post.
L.A. Riders Bail on Metro Trains Amid ‘Horror’ of Deadly Drug Overdoses, Crime
March 17th, 2023Via: Los Angeles Times:
Drug use is rampant in the Metro system. Since January, 22 people have died on Metro buses and trains, mostly from suspected overdoses — more people than all of 2022. Serious crimes — such as robbery, rape and aggravated assault — soared 24% last year compared with the previous.
“Horror.” That’s how one train operator recently described the scenes he sees daily.
