Ukrainian drones pummeled Moscow overnight, only hours before high-stakes talks began in Saudi Arabia between officials from Ukraine and the United States. The attack on the Russian capital, using long-range one-way attack drones, was the biggest of the conflict so far, local officials claimed.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ukraine launched 337 drones at Russia overnight, with 91 of these targeting the Moscow region. The attacks on the capital region killed at least three people, set buildings ablaze, and forced the suspension of flights at all four of Moscow’s airports, as well as rail services.

Two other airports, in the Yaroslavl and Nizhny Novgorod regions east of Moscow, were also closed.

Los Angeles Lost Track of Billions in Homelessness Funding

March 10th, 2025

Via: Epoch Times:

Los Angeles City officials have lost track of billions in spending on homelessness services, according to an independent audit released on March 6.

The audit was commissioned by federal District Judge David O. Carter and completed by Alvarez & Marsal Public Sector Services (A&M).

The report noted that A&M found it challenging to completely quantify how Los Angeles officials spent approximately $2.3 billion in funding meant to shelter, feed, and serve homeless people because of the incomplete and inaccurate manner the city’s homelessness program recorded and collected data.

The report painted a grim picture of the homeless program managed by Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), which was established in 1993.

“Repetitive information gaps, coupled with a lack of accurate and complete data and documentation, posed significant obstacles to this assessment,” the report states.

‘Body in a Box’: World’s First Computer Powered by Human Brain Cells

March 6th, 2025

Via: Independent:

An Australian startup has unveiled the world’s first commercial biological computer that runs on living human brain cells.

Melbourne-based Cortical Labs launched the CL1 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this week, describing it as a “body in a box” that holds the potential to revolutionise AI and robotics.

The computer uses lab-grown neurons that grow across a silicon chip, which allows them to send and receive electrical impulses.

This setup is then integrated into Cortical Labs’s Biological Intelligence Operating System (biOS), through which users can deploy code through the neurons and perform computing tasks.

An internal life support system of pumps, gas, and temperature controls keep the neurons alive for up to six months.
