Idaho Sending State Police Troopers to Mexico Border

January 27th, 2024

Via: ArcaMax:

Gov. Brad Little announced Friday that he plans to send more Idaho State Police troopers to the U.S.-Mexico border “to assist with securing our nation’s border,” as Texas is in the middle of a legal standoff with the federal government over border security.

“We stand in solidarity with our fellow governor, Greg Abbott, and the state of Texas in utilizing every tool and strategy, including razor wire fences, to secure the border,” the governors said in a joint statement. “We do it in part because the Biden administration is refusing to enforce immigration laws already on the books and is illegally allowing mass parole across America of migrants who entered our country illegally.”

“Shunned in Computer Age, Cursive Makes a Comeback in California”

January 27th, 2024

Thankfully, we never drank the Koolaid.

Our four homeschooled children learned both manuscript and cursive handwriting with the Zaner-Bloser system. I highly recommend it.

Our children can also read—wait for it—analog clocks. My sons told me that some of their peers can’t do it. To those children, reading analog clocks is seen as a sort of baffling adult skill. Believe it or not…

A generation of children who learned to write on screens is now going old school.
Starting this year, California grade school students are required to learn cursive handwriting, after the skill had fallen out of fashion in the computer age.

Experts say learning cursive improves cognitive development, reading comprehension and fine motor skills, among other benefits.

British Biologist Identifies Medical Research Fraud at Harvard Cancer Institute

Via: Smithsonian Magazine:

More than 50 research papers published by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), a prestigious teaching center affiliated with Harvard Medical School, are under review this week following online claims that their images and data had been manipulated.

Sholto David, a British molecular biologist and blogger, wrote a post for the independent research integrity blog For Better Science on January 2, in which he accuses researchers at the institute of “data forgery.” The long and at times scathing blog post featured images such as protein bands, data plots and PCR results from the papers, which David alleges were manipulated via copy and paste or Photoshop. The studies in question had been published between 1999 and 2017.

“What is Biden going to do? Send the military in to forcibly open the border? In an election year?”

mRNA Vaccines Contain Prion Region, May Be Linked to Prion-Like Diseases

January 25th, 2024

Via: Epoch Times:

The COVID-19 virus and its vaccine sequences have a prion region on their surface spike proteins. Earlier in the pandemic and vaccine rollout, some researchers were concerned that these prion regions may promote incurable prion diseases, such as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD).

In December 2023, researchers from Oxford showed that 8 percent of the time, the body does not make spike protein from Pfizer mRNA vaccines but may form aberrant proteins instead. This has led researchers to investigate the potential risks of such unintentional formations.

Subsequently, on Jan. 12, retired French biomathematician Jean-Claude Perez published a preprint study discussing whether such mistakes could lead to the formation of prion-like proteins. He concluded that prion-like protein formation is possible.

Alligators Freeze Themselves in Solid Ice to Survive Cold Snap in Southern U.S.

January 25th, 2024

Via: Telegraph:

Alligators are allowing themselves to freeze solid in icy ponds and swamps to survive an unexpected cold snap in the American South.

The creatures were spotted submerged in ice with only their snouts poking out to breathe as temperatures fell as low as -10C across Texas and North Carolina.

The phenomenon has been put down to the brumation – a process similar to hibernation in mammals – that reptiles undergo to survive the cold.

Dems Call on Biden to Seize Control of Texas National Guard

January 25th, 2024

Via: Fox:

As Texas Gov. Greg Abbott continues to tout the state’s right to self-defend itself from a migrant invasion, some Democratic lawmakers are calling on President Biden to take control of the state’s National Guard.

Abbott issued a lengthy statement Wednesday, saying the federal government broke the compact between the U.S. and the individual states.

“The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting states, including immigration laws on the books right now,” Abbott said. “President Biden has refused to enforce those laws and has even violated them.”
