The U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) issued a warning on Thursday that Chinese money laundering networks (CMLNs) pose a substantial threat to the U.S. financial system, citing money laundering by Mexican drug cartels, including some that have been designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs).
FinCEN stated that it reviewed more than 137,000 Bank Secrecy Act reports from 2020 to 2024, identifying around $312 billion in suspicious transactions tied to CMLNs.
“Money laundering networks linked to individual passport holders from the People’s Republic of China enable cartels to poison Americans with fentanyl, conduct human trafficking, and wreak havoc among communities across our great nation,” stated Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence John K. Hurley. He said FinCEN’s Advisory and Financial Trend Analysis reinforces Treasury’s and law enforcement’s ongoing work to dismantle command and control nodes within critical Chinese money laundering networks.
In an interview, investigative journalist Sam Cooper of The Bureau told ZeroHedge that while the $300 billion money laundering figure is massive, his reporting suggests the actual scale is far higher.

Starsage: U.S. Fighter Pilots Test AI “Air Battle Manager” Voice Assistant

For the first time, U.S. fighter pilots took direction from an AI “air battle manager” in a Pentagon test that could change how wars are fought in the skies.
The Air Force and Navy ran the August test using Raft AI’s Starsage tactical control system on F-16s, F/A-18s and F-35s during a joint military exercise designed to evaluate new weapons systems, advanced communications and battle management platforms, Fox News Digital has learned.
In a typical combat mission, fighter pilots communicate with human air battle managers on the ground. These managers monitor radar, sensor feeds and intelligence to direct pilots on where to fly and how to position their aircraft.

During the test, fighter pilots checked in with Starsage, confirming they were on track with the mission plan. Starsage cross-referenced their reports with its simulated sensor feed and the day’s Air Tasking Order, then announced that the minimum force package had been met, signaling that the required number of aircraft were airborne and ready. Behind the scenes, the AI prepared to digitally update the mission commander and other command-and-control agencies.
A battle manager monitored each scenario, and pilots were able to direct Starsage to call them as needed for human direction.
Later in the scenario, when pilots requested a threat assessment, Starsage analyzed its feed and issued what’s known as a “picture call” — a snapshot of enemy aircraft formations. In this case, Starsage identified a single heavy group of five adversary aircraft, marking the first time an AI system has provided real-time tactical awareness in the air battle space.

California: Suspects Stole $10 Million From Southern California Home Depot Stores

In February, Home Depot alerted Ventura County’s organized retail theft team about a rash of shoplifting offenses at their stores. The complex investigation led to more than 50 search warrants and an extensive surveillance operation.
The investigation led law enforcement to arrest 14 people allegedly connected to a sophisticated theft ring that was responsible for entering Home Depot stores, sometimes several times a day, and stealing expensive electrical equipment—including breakers, dimmers, switches, and outlets.
The shoplifters would start early in the morning, stuffing items in their clothing and reaching behind locked aisles, according to one video shown Aug. 26.
The alleged ringleader—David Ahl, 59—ran a storefront called ARIA Wholesale in Tarzana, according to Fryhoff.
Authorities say Ahl’s crew of thieves, known as boosters, would steal the merchandise and deliver it in trash bags or boxes to Ahl’s business or to his home, where he would allegedly pay them in cash.
Ahl would then allegedly sell the items at a reduced price to electrical contractors or other electrical businesses.
