In a move stirring national debate, Mexico’s ruling party Morena has introduced the so-called “Anti-Sticker” Law, a legislative initiative aimed at penalizing the creation and dissemination of memes, stickers, and deepfakes that ridicule public figures—particularly politicians—on social media.
Texas National Guard Troops Might Deploy to Other States to Protect Federal Officials

President Donald Trump could send 400 members of the Texas National Guard to other states “to ensure safety for federal officials,” Gov. Greg Abbott said Sunday on social media.
On Sunday evening, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker posted on X, saying that the president is ordering the deployment of Texas National Guard members to locations like Illinois and Oregon, calling it “Trump’s invasion.” Pritzker also called on Abbott to refuse any coordination.
Less than an hour later, the Texas governor responded that he “fully authorize[s]” such a move by the president.
“You can either fully enforce protection for federal employees or get out of the way and let Texas Guard do it,” Abbott said in a post on X.
It’s not immediately clear when Texas National Guard members would arrive in these locations. Abbott’s office didn’t immediately respond to a question from The Texas Tribune.
Sean “Diddy” Combs Sentenced to 50 Months in Prison

A judge sentenced Sean “Diddy” Combs to 50 months in prison Friday, after the embattled hip-hop mogul’s conviction in his federal sex-crimes case.
U.S. District Court Judge Arun Subramanian issued the ruling of just over four years as prison sentence to a stoic Combs in Manhattan court Oct. 3.
Combs could be released in less than three years after receiving credit for the time he has already spent locked up at Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he’s been held in custody since his September 2024 arrest.

The Treasury Department is considering minting a $1 coin bearing President Donald Trump’s likeness on both sides to honor him and commemorate the United States’ 250th birthday next year.
A first draft of that coin, which will mark the semiquincentennial anniversary of the nation’s founding, depicts Trump’s head in profile on one side, above the words “IN GOD WE TRUST” and the dates 1776 and 2026.
The other side of the coin shows a defiant-looking Trump raising his fist, closely matching the pose he struck moments after surviving an assassination attempt at a 2024 presidential campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
The words “FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT,” which Trump mouthed to his supporters right after that attack, appear around the edge of that side of the coin.

Following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting in New York on Friday with a group of pro-Israel influencers, we learn that Israel is likely paying them a whopping $7,000 per pro-Israel social-media post in a desperate drive to bolster plummeting support of Israel among America’s young conservatives.
That’s the conclusion of Responsible Statecraft’s Nick Cleveland-Stout, based on analysis of a disclosure filed with the US Department of Justice as required by the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). While pro-Israel lobbying heavyweight AIPAC is notoriously exempt from FARA registration, the social media operation comes under the transparency law’s provisions because Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is paying for it.

Babies could be born without a biological mother after scientists created functional human eggs from skin.
American researchers demonstrated it was possible to replace the DNA from an egg with the genetic material from another person’s skin, and turn it into a sex cell ready for fertilisation.
When the team fertilised the egg with sperm, it began growing into an embryo, until the experiment was halted at six days – the point at which an embryo would be transferred to the womb in IVF.
The breakthrough opens the possibility of skin DNA from a man being placed inside a donor egg and fertilised by another man, leading to a baby with two biological fathers and no DNA from a woman.

The American Dream has become prohibitively expensive, with home affordability at historic lows and the traditional middle-class lifestyle now out of reach for most ordinary people.
But no demographic has taken it more on the chin than young Americans.
You can see it in stark terms in this week’s chart below. Since the postwar era, the share of 30-year-olds in America with both a family and a home has plummeted—from about 52% in 1950 to just 13% in 2025. That’s a staggering 75% decline over 75 years.
