The Army Wants To Verify To The Stars Academy’s Fantastic UFO Mystery Material Claims

October 21st, 2019

My commentary remains the same as in: Limited Hangout: ‘Wow, What Is That?’ Navy Pilots Report Unexplained Flying Objects:

The missing trillions never comes up in conjunction with the mainstream media’s fascination with this Pentagon/CIA driven UFO narrative. However, the two are almost certainly related.

Via: The Drive:

Just yesterday, the U.S. Army confirmed that it had entered into a curious cooperative deal with former Blink 182 frontman Tom DeLonge’s To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science, more commonly known as TTSA, to investigate certain “novel materials.” The War Zone has now obtained a minimally redacted copy of the agreement that clearly says that the Army wants to attempt to verify TTSA’s claims about reported metamaterials and associated “technology innovations.” If they actually check out, the service thinks they could be immensely valuable to the U.S. military as a whole.

Trump: “It’s Time to Bring Our Soldiers Back Home” – U.S. Troops Leaving Syria Going to Western Iraq

October 21st, 2019

Via: USA Today:

Defense Secretary Mark Esper says that under current plans all U.S. troops leaving Syria will go to western Iraq and the military will continue to conduct operations against the Islamic State group to prevent its resurgence.

Speaking to reporters traveling with him to the Middle East, Esper did not rule out the idea that U.S. forces would conduct counterterrorism missions from Iraq into Syria. But he said those details will be worked out over time.

His comments were the first to specifically lay out where American troops will go as they leave Syria and what the counter-IS fight could look like. Esper said he has spoken to his Iraqi counterpart about the plan to shift the more than 700 troops leaving Syria into western Iraq.

The developments made clear that one of President Donald Trump’s rationales for withdrawing troops from Syria was not going to come to pass any time soon. “It’s time to bring our soldiers back home,” he said Wednesday. But they are not coming home.

We Have No Reason to Believe 5G Is Safe

October 21st, 2019

Via: Scientific American:

The telecommunications industry and their experts have accused many scientists who have researched the effects of cell phone radiation of “fear mongering” over the advent of wireless technology’s 5G. Since much of our research is publicly-funded, we believe it is our ethical responsibility to inform the public about what the peer-reviewed scientific literature tells us about the health risks from wireless radiation.

The chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently announced through a press release that the commission will soon reaffirm the radio frequency radiation (RFR) exposure limits that the FCC adopted in the late 1990s. These limits are based upon a behavioral change in rats exposed to microwave radiation and were designed to protect us from short-term heating risks due to RFR exposure.

Yet, since the FCC adopted these limits based largely on research from the 1980s, the preponderance of peer-reviewed research, more than 500 studies, have found harmful biologic or health effects from exposure to RFR at intensities too low to cause significant heating.

Citing this large body of research, more than 240 scientists who have published peer-reviewed research on the biologic and health effects of nonionizing electromagnetic fields (EMF) signed the International EMF Scientist Appeal, which calls for stronger exposure limits. The appeal makes the following assertions:

“Numerous recent scientific publications have shown that EMF affects living organisms at levels well below most international and national guidelines. Effects include increased cancer risk, cellular stress, increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits, neurological disorders, and negative impacts on general well-being in humans. Damage goes well beyond the human race, as there is growing evidence of harmful effects to both plant and animal life.”

The scientists who signed this appeal arguably constitute the majority of experts on the effects of nonionizing radiation. They have published more than 2,000 papers and letters on EMF in professional journals.

British Man Creates Fuel-Cell-Like System with 9 Times the Energy Density of Lithium Ion Batteries [???]

October 21st, 2019

Assuming the energy density claims are true, the systems need to be replaced and recycled when they’re depleted. One doesn’t charge them like batteries. The systems consume aluminum and drivers would need to have them swapped out with “full” units periodically.

It’s a bit like Toyota’s insane hydrogen debacle, in terms of lack of infrastructure. Yes, lithium ion has a lot of problems, but being able to use the existing grid to charge vehicles is a significant advantage over other systems. I couldn’t find recent total worldwide sales of the Toyota Mirai, but I think it’s safe to say that Tesla ships more vehicles in a week than Toyota has sold Mirais since 2014 (source, source). Toyota, hilariously, refuses to give up.

Trevor Jackson, of course, sees himself becoming the ExxonMobil of his aluminum + secret sauce electrolyte power source. I can’t see auto manufacturers backing themselves into a corner like that.

Jackson has black world connections (Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems). I’m a bit surprised that he doesn’t have interest for military applications.

Imagine the satisfaction of driving your environmentally friendly electric car for 1,500 miles without having to stop to recharge the battery – a distance more than four times as far as the best and most expensive model currently on the road.

Under the bonnet is a revolutionary new type of battery which, unlike those used in conventional electric cars, can also power buses, huge lorries and even aircraft. What’s more, it’s far simpler and cheaper to make than the batteries currently in use in millions of electric vehicles around the world – and, unlike them, it can easily be recycled.

This might sound like a science-fiction fantasy. But it’s not. Last Friday, the battery’s inventor, British engineer and former Royal Navy officer Trevor Jackson, signed a multi-million-pound deal to start manufacturing the device on a large scale in the UK.

Junior Minister Says Gov.UK Considering Facial Recognition to Verify Age of Porn-Watchers

October 21st, 2019

In other news, China: Face Scan Required to Use Internet.

Via: The Register:

The UK government could use facial recognition to verify the age of Brits online “so long as there is an appropriate concern for privacy,” junior minister for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Matt Warman said.

The minister was responding to an urgent Parliamentary question directed to Culture Secretary Nicky Morgan about the future of Blighty’s online age-verification system, following her announcement this week that the controversial project had been dropped. He indicated the government is still keen to shield kids from adult material online, one way or another.

“In many ways, this is a technology problem that requires a technology solution,” Warman told the House of Commons on Thursday.

“People have talked about whether facial recognition could be used to verify age, so long as there is an appropriate concern for privacy. All of these are things I hope we will be able to wrap up in the new approach, because they will deliver better results for consumers – child or adult alike.”

The government also managed to spend £2.2m on the aforementioned-and-now-shelved proposal to introduce age-verification checks on netizens viewing online pornography, Warman admitted in his response.

Australia Newspapers Redact Front Pages in Media-Freedom Protest

Australia’s fiercely competitive newspaper industry shelved rivalries on Monday to present a united front against what it says is a government campaign to restrict freedom of the press.

Major newspapers including The Australian, owned by Rupert Murdoch-controlled News Corp., the Daily Telegraph and Nine Entertainment’s Sydney Morning Herald published front pages with most of the text blacked out, highlighting what they say is a growing culture of secrecy.
